DO NOT pair the headband to your computer in settings. If you have done this, please remove the pairing as the app will not be able to find your headband if paired.
Open the Pylot app and turn on your headband. The two should automatically connect within 10 seconds. If not:
- Check that Bluetooth is enabled on your computer
- Make sure your computer has the latest Bluetooth drivers (see Windows troubleshooting below)
- Ensure the Pylot app is not open on another computer nearby
- Make sure your headband is still turned on. If not, give it a full charge.
- Close the app and open it again
If the app is still not connecting to your headband, check the detailed troubleshooting below.
Windows Connection Troubleshooting
Your PC will need Bluetooth to connect to the Pylot headband. If you don’t have Bluetooth built-in, we recommend a USB Bluetooth dongle such as the TP-link UB400.
DO NOT connect/pair your Pylot headband using Windows Bluetooth settings. This will prevent the Pylot app from finding your band, as it uses BLE and does not need to be paired.
To connect the band to the Pylot app, turn it on, and put it on your head. Open the Pylot app; the band should connect to the band within a few seconds.
If it does not connect, try the following steps:
- Ensure Bluetooth is enabled. On Windows 11, go to Settings —> Bluetooth & devices, and toggle Bluetooth to on.
- Update your Bluetooth driver (this is the likely issue). Download and run this driver update tool. When using this tool, you may be required to use Microsoft Edge, even if you have an alternative default browser. Even though this is an Intel tool, this fix works equally well on AMD systems as it is only the Bluetooth drivers we are interested in.
