Over-the-air update using your mobile phone
You can update your Pylot band to the latest firmware using your Android phone or iPhone.
Firmware version 2.0.8.0 has two major improvements:
- More accurate battery % levels
- Over 10 hours of battery life. You should get 11-12 hours of battery life
NOTE: During the OTA process, ensure the Pylot band is always nears your phone.
The OTA process will take 3-4 minutes to complete.
OTA Process
- Download and save this file to your phone. This is the latest Pylot firmware.
Pylotband_v2.0.8.0.gbl188.5KB
- Go to the App or Play Store on your phone and search ‘EFR Connect’. Install the EFR Connect app.
- Close the Pylot app on your computer to ensure it doesn’t connect to the band. Then power the Pylot band on. Open the EFR Connect app to see a list of Bluetooth devices in the area. Your Pylot band will be called Pylot Band XXXX (where the Xs are a unique code for your band). If you can’t see Pylot Band, the earlier beta units were called Game Band. Find the band listed in the Bluetooth devices and tap the Connect button.
- This will open a screen of information for the band. Select OTA Firmware. The image below shows this option on Android. It may be positioned differently on iOS.
- A popup will allow you to select the .gbl firmware file you downloaded earlier. Tap this button and select the firmware file.
- The screen should then show the application firmware has been selected. Go ahead and tap Upload.
- The OTA process will then begin.
- When the update is complete (ie. 100%) you can tap End.
- The app will then show it is rebooting the band. In most cases, the band will turn off, but you will need to manually power the band back on.
- The firmware update is then complete. If you wish to confirm that you have updated to firmware version 2.0.8.0 you can connect to the Pylot Band again, then select ‘Device Information’ and the ‘Read’ option under ‘Firmware Revision String’. This should show v2.0.8.0.
And that's it. If you have any issues, please let us know.
